To Learn
Growing as a disciple in spirit and in truth.
Life Groups
We believe that small groups are the building blocks of a church. Important as
Sunday worship services are, they don't replace the necessity of being a part of
a small group which meets regularly, which is why we encourage every person
to join one. We have various Life Groups to suit your needs - there is a place for everyone at Wesley.
These groups meet on various days, in various areas and at various times, so
please don't hesitate to contact one of them. Download the document below to view all of our Life Groups.
ENRICHMENT COURSES
Each year we hold various interesting, uplifting and informative courses. These
have included Christianity Explored, The Big Ask, Alpha, parenting courses,
The Marriage Course (marriage enrichment for those already married) and
GriefShare. Often the larger courses will take place on a Wednesday evening
(existing small groups may often choose to make the course their weekly
meeting time). Courses will always be advertised in good time -
Collin Moore oversees the courses if you have any queries or suggestions.

EMMAUS / CHRYSALIS / KAIROS / ALARGA
These celebrated inter-denominational spiritual renewal weekends are held to
grow people in their faith, revealing God's love in profound ways over the
weekends - just ask anyone who has gone on one!

To Live Like Jesus
Being the body of Christ. Each and every person has a role to play to make the church function to its full potential.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH and JAM
If you have a passion for working with children and sharing Christ's love with
them and seeing them develop, then please consider either/both:
1) becoming a leader at Children's Church. This would involve you organising
activities and teaching/co-teaching a group every Sunday during school
terms during the 09:30 service, as well as two meetings per term.
2) becoming a leader at JAM. This would involve you organising activities and
leading/co-leading a group of children every Friday during school terms,
starting from 16:45 until around 18:45, as well as meetings every few weeks.
Contact Tash Jacobs // tash@wesleychurch.co.za.
TEEN CHURCH and I.M.P.A.C.T
If you have a passion for working with youth and sharing Christ's love with them
and seeing them develop, then please consider either/both:
1) becoming a leader at Teen Church. This would involve you planning and
leading discussions and organising activities for Sundays during school terms
during the 09:30 family service.
Contact Nicolette Olivier on 082 819 6543.
2) becoming a leader at I.M.P.A.C.T. This would involve you organising activities and

WORSHIP TEAMS
Are you gifted musically and have a passion for worship? We have several
contemporary worship teams at both the 09:30 and 18:00 services which could
benefit from your talents. This would require you to play/sing every three
weeks or so, whichever team you choose. Morning teams need to be present
from roughly 08:50 onwards (and practise on a weekday evening). Evening
teams usually start from around 16:00 including practice. There are certain
channels to follow before one can join a team, so to find out more please...
Contact Lisa-Claire Garden on 033 386 1386 // lisaclaire@wesleychurch.co.za.
CHOIRS
Are you gifted musically and have a passion for worship? We have two choirs
who lead the singing of hymns and minister to us through music at both
morning services.
Wesley Choir (07:30 service, practices on Thursdays at 16:30)
Contact Gill Braithwaite on via the church on 033 386 1386.
The Messengers (09:30 service, practices on Mondays at 18:00)

AUDIO-VISUAL
Are you a technical person? In this important and growing ministry, we rely on
volunteers to run the sound, visuals and lighting for each service every
Sunday, as well as other church events such as funerals and weddings.
We aim to be the best we can in terms of supporting worship through the use of
ever-improving worship technology, so this a dynamic ministry. Duties are
roughly every 3 to 4 weeks. We'll provide the training, so long as you are
willing and able to learn.
Contact Paul Dantuma on 082 464 2292 or Jason Dantuma on 084 476 9906.
WELCOME MINISTRY
Every Sunday service needs friendly volunteers (door stewards) to welcome
people as they come into the church and hand out the bulletins and pamphlets.
The door stewards also collect the offering and count the number of people
present at each service. Rosters vary, but duties are usually every 4 - 8 weeks.
Contact Sandra Phongo // nsandrankanu@yahoo.com.
PRAYER MINISTRY
Every Sunday service also needs prayer ministry volunteers to be present in the
prayer chapel after each service to pray with those who are in need of prayer.
Contact the office on 033 386 1386 // info@wesleychurch.co.za.
OTHER AREAS AND ABILITIES
There are several other important areas such as serving tea/coffee after
services and preparing, serving, clearing and washing up after communion,
for example, which all require people to lend a hand for a short while now and
again. We urge you to consider serving in one of these areas.
Also, if you have any other gifts/skills/talents/abilities which you think we
should be aware of (electrical, plumbing, construction, gardening, media?),
please let us know! Even if they aren't used immediately, it's good to know for
future reference. There are a vast and varied number of tasks involved in
running a growing church!

Taking the church beyond its walls and going and making disciples of all nations.
CARE GROUP
This important group visits and follows up with people in hospital. The
pastoral staff simply would not be able to cope by themselves with the number
of people who need visits, hence the importance of this group. They get
together every second Friday of the month at 09:30.
